There are many ways to the CDC and alumni connect. If you are
interested in assisting and giving back to students and young graduates
look at the many options to Partner with the CDC. If you are in
need of guidance and assistance on your own career path, refer to
our Career Tools for Alumni.
If you had a teacher credential file established with the CDC
prior to 2005, your file will be permanently deactivated as of June,
2008. If you would like a copy of your teacher credential file,
please contact our office at 804-289-8547 or email Lauren Bosselait at

available to current students. The links below connect to the
resources we have developed for current students but they will answer many of the
questions you may have regarding career preparation or exploration.
For more individual attention please contact the CDC at 289.8547 to
schedule an appointment (in person or phone) with a career
counselor. If you have quick questions you may also contact our
office by e-mail. To do so,
please write to our office at

Making the most of your visit with a counselor:
Some people like to do some preparation before meeting with a
counselor (if you're not one of those people, that's absolutely
fine--we'd love to meet with you whether you've prepared for hours or
just decided to stop by on a whim).
- Brainstorm about what it is you want to discuss and
write your ideas down on a piece of paper. Even this small
task will better help the counselors understand what you're
thinking, looking for, etc.
-
Review the website prior to your
appointment to see what supporting resources are available
online.
- Keep an open mind of how to be helped
- Think about this particular visit. What do you hope to
accomplish during your visit? One suggestion is to think about
the big and small questions you want to discuss.
