In-Depth Industry and Profession Exploration
From advertising and accounting to healthcare and non-profit: what industries spark your interest? An important part of planning your path to success is finding out more about different industries, career paths and positions. Depending on the type of field you want to work in, your preparation will vary. Recruiting for internships and full-time positions also varies greatly depending on the industry.
The CDC hosts industry expos each year, which serve as the main recruiting and networking events for the year.
Informational Interviewing
An informational interview is a meeting someone who is interested in a career field schedules with a professional currently working in the field. The interviewer can ask questions about the field or industry, the company or position type. An informational interview is for general industry information and networking contacts. It is not a job interview for a specific position.
