Partner With the CDC
The Career Development Center exists to help all students identify and
achieve their career goals. Our mission includes counseling students on
major selection, internship search strategies, graduate school
applications, and job search skills. We also exist to support faculty
members as they encourage students to identify and achieve their career
goals. The Career Development Center is
here to support you!
Graduate &
Professional School Resources
Although you certainly know the faculty and programs in your area better
than the CDC, we can ease your advising load by helping your students
revise personal statements, find information about standardized tests,
or elucidate the criteria they seek in a graduate or professional
program. (Letter of Recommendation
Tips)
Don't Cancel Class
If you have to be out of town for a conference or another obligation,
your Career Development Center liaison will create a class according to
your request on a topic such as careers in your area, how to make the
most of a liberal arts education, the graduate school application
process, or other areas you deem relevant.
Assessments
When you have an advisee who is struggling to define a goal for their
academics at Richmond or life after graduation, suggest they speak to a
counselor at the CDC about taking an assessment that can help them
identify strengths and areas of interest.
Sharing Opportunities
The CDC utilizes an online database called SpiderConnect to let students
know about a wide range of opportunities. We are always looking to
expand this resource—when you receive internship or job postings in your
field, please forward these on to your CDC liaison. Thanks!
