Wellness Courses
The Career Development Center offers two courses that fulfill students’ wellness requirements for graduation. Students can register through BannerWeb during course registration.
Career Exploration: Wellness 090
This course is geared toward first- and second-year students.
In this course, participants will:
- Develop an understanding of self: values, temperament, strengths and their relationships to academic and career choices.
- Use goal-setting exercises to connect academic decisions to future life/career directions.
- Be equipped to utilize resources available to them at the Career Development Center and throughout campus to aid them in their career exploration.
- Build search skills for experiential opportunities related to career development and future jobs.
The course is geared toward juniors and seniors.
In this course, participants will:
- Begin the process of setting career and life goals.
- Practice articulating skills, strengths, values and career interests.
- Be equipped to use applicable strategies to connect their goals with opportunities.
- Where are you now?
- Articulating yourself
- Communicating to your audience
- Financial implications of your choices
- Blazing your trail
The Career Development Center is open Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Students and alumni can schedule consultations by calling (804) 289-8547. Same-day appointments are not available.
Fall 2011 Walk-in Hours
