1) What is the Real World?
A: The Real World is a two-day Life Experiences program for all University of Richmond Students, the purposes of which are to understand better what kind of lifestyle changes you can expect after graduation as well as to build lasting and meaningful relationships with UR alumni from a wide range of career fields.

2) Why should I attend the Real World?
A: This is your chance to casually interact with 25 alumni from a diverse number of disciplines and careers to learn how to capitalize on your experience at UR to make the most of the real world. These alumni are recently graduated, so are young and experienced. And they are coming for you!

3) How do I register?
A:  Registration is not necessary to attend!

4) Do I have to pay for this event?
A: No, all costs for students are covered thanks to the University of Richmond and the hard working volunteers who made this event possible.

5) How should I dress for this event?
A: This event is casual, not professional. The alumni will be dressed casually and they ask that students do the same to promote a relaxed atmosphere.

6) Will I get a job/internship from attending the Real World?
A: It is not likely, however, if it does result that is fantastic. The purpose of the event is to help you understand what's coming when you graduate. Definitely build (and later maintain) connections with alumni that you draw you. But remember, this is not a career fair.

7) Do I have to attend all of the weekend's events?
A: No, but we highly encourage attending all scheduled events so that you can maximize your interactions with the alumni.

8) Should I bring my résumé to the event?
A: If you would like focused feedback from alumni in certain career fields on your résumé we would encourage that you bring it to the event on Saturday.

9) When did the alumni participants graduate from UR?
A: You can click on each alumni biography page for specific information about their graduation year, but generally speaking, most of the alumni participants graduated in the 1997-2006 range.

10) What is a "breakout" session?
A: A breakout session is an hour-long discussion session in which you can talk with other students and alumni participants about specific career interests. For example, if you are interested in Finance, Consulting, Management, Education, Law, Arts & Media, International Affairs, Government, Sales, Medicine and Science, PR, Advertising, and Marketing, you will have the chance to meet and interact with all of the alumni.

11) How can I get questions answered that are not addressed by this "Q&A" page?
A: Check the main page frequently as information will be updated from time-to-time, or e-mail Andrea Willis (andrea.willis@richmond.edu) or Denis Malkov (denis.malkov@richmond.edu) with specific questions.
