Welcome

The Real World
Student-Alumni Life Experiences Program

February 8-9th, 2008

25 Alumni. Picked to talk to you and share their lives. Find out what happens when you leave the bubble and start getting real.

Welcome!

Regardless of how far along you are in your University of Richmond experience, it is never too early to start thinking about your post-college plans. You have options—lots of them—and on February 8-9, 2008, you will have the opportunity to explore more opportunities than you ever thought possible.

The Real World is UR's 7th Annual Student-Alumni Life Experiences Program. Alumni from many career fields and backgrounds will be on campus to share their stories and enable students to learn about the options, career and life based, that lie ahead. The purpose of the weekend is not to get you a job or an internship, however many of our participants have done just that in the past. Rather, this is an occasion to connect you with alumni who are ready, willing, and able to support you as you plan for the future. They are here to talk to you about their experiences of transitioning from UR to the ‘real world’ and what they have learned about life and the numerous post-graduate opportunities available to them.

About 25 alumni from varying undergraduate, postgraduate, and geographical backgrounds will participate in this event. We encourage you to check out the participation list, and plan ahead to interact closely with those whose profession or experiences interest you the most.  Before you know it, your four years will be up and someone will be saying to you, "Welcome to the real world." This is a great chance to prepare yourself for the future.
