Credential Files

The Career Development Center manages credential files for students & alumni/ae pursuing teaching positions and graduate and professional school admission. Questions about credential files should be directed to the Administrative Assistant, CDC

Teacher Credential Files
All teacher candidates may open a credential file with the Career Development Center.
You are responsible for:

  • Submitting a signed Statement of Policies Concerning Credential Files for Education.
  • Submitting a signed UR Transcript Release Form.
  • Requesting from the Education Department that your Student Teaching Evaluations and Praxis scores be released to the CDC.
  • When submitting your request to send out your file, you must submit a SIGNED written request to the CDC with the complete name and addresses of your school systems. There is no charge for the first 10 requests!

We are responsible for:

  • Processing your credential file request (to include your UR transcript ONLY) within 3 business days.
  • Providing teacher candidates with a copy of “Job Search Handbook for Educators” (available in our office or will be provided at fall/spring information session).
  • Facilitating the fall/spring information session with all teacher candidates.

Graduate & Professional School Files
Instructions for completing graduate/professional school credential file:
  • Contents of file to include:
    Statement of Policies Concerning Credential Files for Graduate School

    Waiver of Access - Parts I and II

    Transcript Release Form

  • Please read and sign Statement of Policies Concerning Credential Files for Graduate School.
  • Please sign, either waiving your right to access this file or indicating "I do not waive my rights to access my file." Most graduate programs require that you waive your right of access. Under Part II, complete this form; I would suggest checking “Do Not release my data to employers” unless you decide you would like employers to access your résumé from our website.
  • We will create an SpiderConnect account for you as a result of your signing Part II. To access your SpiderConnect account, go to our website at: cdc.richmond.edu; click on SpiderConnect. To access SpiderConnect, enter your UR Net ID and password. Please complete all registration information; then upload your Word resume. This will officially register you with our office.
  • Return to the Administrative Assistant, Career Development Center, Richmond Hall, Room G-18 the following signed forms: Statement of Policies; Waiver of Access; and Transcript Release Form. Upon receipt of your signed forms, your credential file will be set up!
  • Feel free to contact the Administrative Assistant at the CDC, 289-8547. You may check on the status of your file at any time.
