Career Development Center Vision & Mission
The Career Development Center partners with students to explore their passions, navigate challenges and achieve their success.
Recognizing and valuing diverse backgrounds and experiences, the Career Development Center develops innovative approaches to connect students’ academic and career goals by identifying and promoting opportunities and facilitating a network of partnerships.
Individual Appointment Policies
- Students should work with their career advisor to set goals for career development. Students should be prepared to spend time and effort to achieve their career development goals. CDC staff can best assist students if students are committed to their career planning goals.
- A student or alumna/us is expected to be on time for a scheduled appointment.
- A student or alumna/us must notify the CDC of a need to cancel at least 24 hours prior to the appointment or it will be considered a missed appointment
- Arrival later than 15 minutes after the appointment time is scheduled will be considered a missed appointment
- If a student or alumna/us fails to follow these guidelines twice in a semester without reason, he or she will not be permitted to schedule an individual appointment with a CDC career advisor for the remainder of the semester. The student or alumna/us may schedule an appointment when the new semester begins. Students may discuss their status and reinstatement of services with the director of the Career Development Center.
The Career Development Center is open Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Students and alumni can schedule consultations by calling (804) 289-8547. Same-day appointments are not available.

Monday through Friday, 2 to 4 p.m. at the CDC and the following locations:

Wednesdays: Jepson School
